How Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling work?
In an RF microneedling procedure, firstly a microneedling device is used to create multiple, micro-punctures in the skin via a controlled skin injury caused by the insertion of the needle to a certain depth. As the skin gets wounded, the body naturally responds to these wounds by producing more collagen. Collagen is a skin structural protein fiber, made by fibroblasts, found in the skin dermis, and capable of firming the skin.
The micro-punctures in the skin, created by microneedling treatment, also serve as micro channels. As the microneedling of the skin is done, the radiofrequency energy is simultaneously delivered through these microchannels into the deeper layers of the skin. This further boosts both collagen and elastin fiber production in the skin. Elastin is another skin structural protein fiber that functions in keeping the skin elastic.
Together, both collagen and elastin help completely rejuvenate the skin by specifically healing multiple skin flaws.
